PRovincetown Travel Guide

The Cape fills up every summer with traffic across the Sagamore Bridge, women in Lily Pullitzer dresses, and visitors from both Boston and beyond. For those who prefer to avoid traffic and the usual crowds, look no further than Provincetown, or P-Town as it’s known by many. I recommend taking the Provincetown ferry over from Boston and enjoying a cocktail on your way to town.

Things to do Provincetown

Rent a bike - There are some great bike paths in the area, and we biked to all the beaches.

Truro Vineyard - Just a short 15 minutes away from downtown, this picturesque winery is a great place to spend the day.

Go to the beach - Race Point Beach & Herring Cove are my favorites, but there are plenty of spots all around.

Go window shopping - There are a lot of upscale art galleries that are great to walk around as well.

Where to stay in Provincetown

I would highly recommend an AirBnb for any Cape excursion and PTown is no different. We stayed at one right downtown on Commercial Street, which made it easy to get to the ferry and walk around all weekend.

Tips for Provincetown

Go without a car if you can. The ferry is much faster and more convenient, and you can see mostly everything without a car. For more information on the ferry, check out the two options out of Boston here and here.
