Most little girls dream of the day they get married and have kids; I always dreamed of the day I could get out and see the world. I have been fortunate enough to visit 13 countries in my life so far, and now I get to fulfill my dream of living in a new one. In January I will be embarking on my greatest adventure yet, as I relocate to Nuremberg, Germany.
The feelings I have are all bittersweet; for most 2019 is the end of a decade, for me, it’s the end of an era. I moved to Boston for college nine years ago and lived out my dream of escaping New Hampshire and living in a city. I have had so many great education and work experiences in this city, with amazing friends, new and old, by my side. I’ve been with my current company for four years, which, for most millennials, is a lifetime. This past year I have grown so much professionally and in my own personal relationships, and leaving it all behind is hard, but I know what lies ahead will be just as exciting.
One of the things I am most excited for is the chance to finally have some more time to focus on my blog, as I’ll have a much smaller network in Germany than Boston. Writing has always been a major creative outlet for me, one that I haven’t been able to focus as much time and energy on as an adult. I love following and gaining inspiration from other travelers, and hope to do the same for my own small but growing network.
The relocation mean my Weekend Roundup for Boston events will cease, however I’ve put together a great guide on where I find all the events here. But for now, Boston and Abroad is going permanently abroad.
